How to : Eat !

You surely don't want to eat at Mac Donald's all days you will be in London (there is a Mc Donald's in every street in London ). So you should go to the supermarket to buy some food. There are many supermarket brands like Tesco, Safeway, Marc&Spencer... According to me Tesco brand make the best prices, but be careful, food is cheapest but you will certainly buy more things. Tesco politic is to sell you low price but to sell you more things and finally you spend more than in a "normal" supermarket. Be careful the meat is expensive in London and pay attention of its out-of-date.

Eating outside is expensive in London. There are fast food which have same prices than in France, you have mainly Mc Donald's, Burger King (you're the boss) and KFC where you can eat for 4 or 5£. There is also "all you can eat" buffet in the Pizza Hut for 6£.

The pub are also a good choice it depend of the pub but you can eat a good lunch for 6/7£. After that you have many restaurants for any prices but it was too much for me. You can eat sandwiches but there are often not really big and expensive, some supermarkets make special prices for sandwiches which expire the following day.

How to : Phone !

You should buy a english sim card to communicate cheaper with your friend in London and to be contacted by employers. Last year many students took the Virgin Card because it's cheaper to call an other Virgin card. You buy it 10£ and you have your sim card with 5£ crédit. Don't forget to call your operator before you quit France. Normally your mobile doesn't accept english card and you have to unlock your mobile. If your modile is older than 6 months, it take 10 minutes BUT if it's less the operator need to contact the constructor and it take 1 month and cost about 60 euros!
